Al`s Pizza in Calgary

Pizza and Greek Salad. Easy enough to execute, hard to screw up.... What's difficult, is knocking Greek Salad & Pizza out of the park!!In all honesty, this was my first order and I picked Al's because they were a local place and figured they could use the business in these times. I was completely blown away. Fresh salad with really good quality Feta & Olives, and the pizza was awesome! Specifically, great tang on the sauce and great dough!This was my first order... Certainly not my last!

We've been ordering from Al's for years. Have always been happy but unfortunately the last couple of times have been less than satisfactory. Orders are missing items and the last order for delivery took an 1hour and 40mins to deliver because they mistakenly thought it was for pick-up instead of delivery. Additionally, my order was to include a 1litre pop which was not delivered with the order. That is the second time, in a row, that is my order was not fulfilled. I hope the next time I place an order it will be without any inconvenience.

Great place! My family and I hit up Al's on our way back through the city from Canmore. The Google reviews brought us here and we were not disappointed. The pizza was fantastic! And the steak and pasta were very good too. We were served a complimentary cesear salad that had such tasty dressing. The service was great too. Very kind and helpful. An overall great experience. Next time we're in Calgary we'll definitely be back!

Very good meal at a really good price. I had the baked lasagna which was way bigger than I expected. Then I found out that a side salad and garlic toast were included with the lasagna as well as the baked tortellini, which my husband really enjoyed. I was so full and brought home left overs. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. It wasn't overly busy so we could seat ourselves right away. On Sundays they have 1/2 price pizza. Expect it to be busy. It's probably some of the best pizza in town. It's our go to for take out on lazy weekends.

I had a donair the size of a newborn child. Tried my hardest to finish it, but was defeated. I felt shame..... but I will go back again. One of the tastiest donairs I've had in a long time.

Not impressed with the food or services at this place. Really disappointed!

Our favourite pizza place in the city. The lady was so nice and gave us a larger Caesar salad so the whole table could try and it was delish.

I've eaten the Family Pack here for many years, its still a great value for the quality and variety of food. Pizza, baked Lasagna, garlic toast, ceasar salad and a 1L pop! Always tasty and hot. Location is tucked away in Ranchlands and the ladies at the counter are always friendly and attentive. Keep up the great work!

I'd give a zero but that's not possible. 10 years ago they screwed up my delivery order and refused to fix it. Finally we decided to try again. Pizza was over cooked and the wings had no flavour. No going to bother calling to have food fixed, I know how that turns out. Maybe we'll try again in 10 years but I doubt it.

Al's is always fantastic. Their prices are great and the servers are always really friendly. I'm a huge fan of the pastas. Everything is always super fresh and they don't skimp on anything. I have yet to even have so much as a sub par experience here. We usually eat here a couple times a month and it is always great! Keep up the amazing work!Also, the calamari is consistently amazing!!!

Just tried this place for the first time! Not sure where I’ve been but this spot is bomb! I ordered a lasagna that was packed with cheese and flavour. The sauce is thick with a lot of flavour and the portion was pretty big. Looking forward to trying the pizza on my next visit. Recently renovated so the place looks practically brand new and the plaza is huge so there’s ample parking outside. Give it a try if you haven’t already.

Love the pick up deal on pasta, the fettuccine with chicken is absolutely delicious. I used to get the spaghetti with added meatballs, but since switched to fettuccine Alfredo and now im hooked. Loads of flavor and portion sizes are amazing.

Real Italy in our very own Ranchands neighborhood. The owner Al offers not only great food in a spotlessly clean environment but a smile that laps the globe. Over 31 years of serving great food and hospitality. The Caesar salad old style authentic Italian dressing fit for a king. One salad more than enough for two good appetites. Gluten free croutons available. Thanks Al for making me feel like family!

I ordered baked lasagna and it was delicious! It came with a salad (which was good and really big) and a thick piece of garlic toast. Very tasty! You can take out or dine in. It is very quaint inside with booths and tables available. The pizza is traditional style and is also very tasty.

Excellent food. And the staff were very calm and collective under the rush. If you want a beyond amazing place to bring a date or simply eat pizza then this place is hands down the place to go. Always impressed here on all ends!!!

Ordered lasagna and a beef donair for lunch. The food was hot and ready when I arrived for pick up. The portions were huge! Very friendly staff and the place looked like a million bucks. Definitely coming back for more.

Great food! Baked spaghetti is simply awesome! Always get the best service. Newly renovated. Seriously overlooked restaurant in NW Calgary in my opinion.

The pizza was OK but other than the fact that there were tiny rocks in it. Please clean your mushrooms better in the future, I guess. RIP my teeth.

My wife and I had become frequent customers because of the food and staff. Plus their pricing was fair. Unfortunately, we are now debating about our return given a recent incident involving another customer. This person, who obviously was known to the staff, cleared a table on his own, took the dishes into the kitchen area, then walked behind the bar and helped himself to coffee, then returned to his table. No gloves, no face mask, no thought as to how his actions would look given our current social situation regarding the virus and current protocols. And no intervention from staff. The food is good but not worth risking my health due to reckless actions by another customer.

We had our annual staff appreciation dinner at Al's and everyone LOVED IT! Such a cozy rustic and intimate ambiance, we didnt want to leave!Most of the staff had steak and some pasta and pizza, the portions were so big that almost everyone needed to take the rest of their food home. Food - 5 stars, service - 5 stars, management 5 stars, ambience 5 stars!!!!!We'll definitely be back!!

We’ve ordered from Al’s many times in the past and it has always been good. Today I must say we were disappointed as there was hardly any cheese on the pizza and it was burnt.

Some of the best chicken wings I've had in the city. Came out piping hot and fresh. I ordered Lemon Pepper. Loaded with seasoning and flavor. Then I had one of Al's specialty pizzas with anchovies. Great crust and sauce. Loaded with cheese and delicious, filling, and flavourful.Worth every dollar. Will be visiting again for sure.

Ordered two pizza's tonight. I'm very picky about pizza, and can usually find flaws. Not tonight! Pizza was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've had in the city. Loaded with flavourful toppings, lots of cheese, probably the best tasting pizza sauce I've had. Homemade sauce was thick, rich, and well seasoned with herbs. Their crust was light and melts in your mouth. Many pizza places in the city lack in their crust, sauce flavour, and either use flavourless toppings, or are skimpy on the cheese and toppings. Al's passed all the tests. Order pizza from here if you haven't already. You'll be happy you did. I will be ordering from them again :)And "No" Al's did not pay me to write this review.

Great pizza! After eating Al's pizza I refuse to order from the chain restaurants as they do not even come close to the quality of Al's Pizza.

We like the pizza and pasta. It's a nice local restaurant to order from.

It does look like your typical old school restaurant with dated decor, however I find they all look like that. The crust is thick and they don't skimp on toppings or sauce. I always have the vegetarian pizza and it is delicious. The prices are economical, service is good and the food I have tasted so far has been great. They offer delivery as well as pick-up and the employees are always so friendly.

We have been ordering from Al's for 5 years . Over the last few months something has changed in there restaurant. About 2 months ago we waited 2.5 hrs for a pizza ,showed up ice cold . They gave us a credit. No problem, things happen. They gave us a credit and the pizza was fantastic. Then on Friday night I ordered a pizza and a rack of ribs . Both showed up cold and the ribs were so overcooked the meat came off the bone in 1 rubbery chunk and couldn't chew . No sense in complaining again ,just will not order from them again.
